SLAVS – POEMS FROM TANAGAI
CYRYL I METODY
Two brothers from Thessaloniki paradoxically
Are called the Slavs` fathers
An ancient Slavic “our” rite
They left to all in the inheritance
For us, for Czechs and Slovaks
This gift unfortunately didn`t come in
Because we have joined Latin
There are some references… about princes
From Krakow or rather from Wiślica
Who received christening from Metody
In the old Collegiate Basilica in Wiślica...
There are even some “Russian records”
Meanwhile this rite was very interesting
For Serbs and Bulgarians
It was received by the Romanian Latin people
And by the monks of the Resurrection…
CHRIESTENING
Askold or Oskar Hill
In Kiev near Dnieper
The first christening of Russ was forgotten
Is tacitly commemorates
There are references that the Pope himself
Was notified of this christening
That he even sent some relics
To build the first church
100 years lasted there the missionary action
Olga was christening during this time
Włodzimierz christened in the Crimea in Chersoń
In Kiev he forced the rest to christening…
He was a cruel and a murderer
Many historians are surprised
How such a beast landed up on the altars
And still doesn`t descend…
WŁODZIMIERZ AND OLGA
Olga had Igor as a husband
In his youth he was killed deviously
She destroyed the enemy, as a ransom she asked
Only quails and pigeons
After some time the enemies wanted
To attack Olga again
Olga ordered to set fire to the feathers
And to let the birds to their homes
The hostile city all burned and wrecked
Olga got revenge for her husband
Włodzimierz was to do the rest
Descendant of young died Igor`s
ANTONI PIECZERSKI
I was at Antoni`s grave
I saw also Nestor`s grave
Hundreds of saints are buried there
Narrow and terrible corridors
Regulations say that only candles
Can be used in this maze
It is necessary to hump and it is better
Than who was claustrophobia doesn`t go there
GLEB AND BORYS
Świętopełk killed your brothers
They volunteered to him
Felt a trap was waiting for them
But supposedly they wanted to fall into this
Such those in Russia called “anguished”
Who go boldly on martyrdom
Like these sheep what are pouring tears
But don`t bleat and don`t cry
JAROSŁAW
Prince Jarosław founded the city
It could have been more splendid than Moscow
But older brothers died in Ukraine
To avenge them, he lived in Kiev
The church was still indivisible
Jarosław was a devout Catholic
He gave his daughters for the king
Of Poland, for French and for Sweden
Never again later in Ukraine
World – famous and mind
Weren`t equal with Jarosław
The nickname “Wise” grew with him
He wrote the book TEN WORDS
For his descendants – an educational
He also erected the temple 1000 years ago
“The Capital of Wisdom” in Greek: Zofia
WACŁAW AND BOLESŁAW
Wacław was to die voluntarily
He accepted the invitation – trap
To spend birthday with brother
In city of Old Bolesławiec
He prayed for his brother at the church
Felt that he had to him regrets
Bolesław came with a large sword
He chopped off head his own brother`s
Wacław was in love with the church
He had own field and vineyards
He produced bread and wine
He gave as a gift for the cathedral
He appeared on its door every day
Long before the priest arrived
He walked at nights around the churches
Slept sometimes at the entrance like a sleepwalker
CASIMIR
Our prince was similar to Wacław
In every respect
Didn`t like great politics
Felt that the disease would finish off him
Agreed with the thought that he is dying
He was tempted and encouraged
To play to use life
But he answered constantly:
MELIOR MORI QUAM PECARI
I would rather die than sin
OMNI DIAE DIC MARIAE
With Maria in Heart he went through life
He never repelled beggars
In Grodno queues awaited him
His body rested in the city of Vilnius
Big indulgences were there…
I heard that the best gift
For Casimir`s were eggs
They were offered to clerics
They lie in calcium so they would not spoil
That like “Kaziuki” turned into
An age-old campaign for missionaries
Jadwiga gave diamonds to them
Casimir eggs of church fair
JAN KANTY
Students have their patron
It is Jan Kanty – Father Professor
For the poor always house is opened
And the full table always waited
The poor Jesus he titled
Your money he gave to students
Founded on the right and left
Private scholarships given from heart
There is a story that the pitcher which crashed
Jan put it together for a crying boy
And in addition spilled milk
Returned to where it spilled from
NAWOJKA
Nobody knows what further has happened of Nawojka
Did the Inquisition punish her
Or did she marry richly
It is known that she dressed as a boy
We know that her dad was the mayor
In the city of Dobrzyń far away on the Vistula
That this matter, however, was exposed
That she must leave the university…
SERGIUSZ FROM ZAGORSK
Zagorsk is today Sergiev Posad
It means “The Garden of Saint Sergius”
In his youth he was called Bartłomiej
He was as a dumb, slowly thought
Something happened with him during the prayer
In a deep grove the disease disappeared
Had there a vision of the Holy Trinity
Founded in this grove a great monastery
He changed his name learned science
Became in Russia famous creator of Ławra
A lot of tourists visit this place
This is Orthodox Castel Gandolfo
PIOUS IVAN
Ivan didn`t divorce with your wives
Like the English King Henry the Eighth
He shortened their life in various ways
The result was one: He got married again
Tsar did expiation he prayed a lot
He would wake up to praise God
He treated people like his wives
Wasn`t merciful for anyone
Iwan in his country wasn`t the only
Many liked to murder, to torment
For that they had a “esteem” and respect
“Iwan`s clones”: Stalin, Lenin…
PATRIARCH
Ivan brought from the Solovetsky Islands
The monk Filip because he liked him
“Appointed” him to yourself as the Patriarch
Then tormented him when Filip bored him
He sent dangerous letters to Tsar
He rebuked tsarist cruelty in them
He read letters, mocked from Hierarch
At the end, yet, “allowed” to kill
Filip was canonized
Some want to proclaim saint of Tsar
Because he always repented of his sins
Especially when finished his son Dimitry…
Here are “Of Rome of the Third” the faces
The creator of this strange ideology
From Caligula or from Neron
Many, in fact, things he learned
OPRYCZNINA
Tsar Ivan had his “black guard”
The prototype of “Jun” and KGB
What only the Tsar wanted yourself
Black - guard have been incorporated
Lawlessness or “autocracy”
What I only want, I`m just do it
It has a name in Russia “Oprycznina”
Because “except” law is also “anarchy”
This system is gathering grandly today
Aeroplanes are falling from the sky
Artificial clouds disturb them
Serial “suicides” multiply
Grisza Skuratin, “Murawiow – “executing hanging”
How many we know the tormentors:
Russians, Georgian, “Swedish” Jews
Was famous also our countryman Feliks
Is Machiavellianism the worst
What is managed to describe in books
Maybe Hitlerism, Stalinism, Maoism
I think, however, that “Oprycznina”
WASYL BŁAZENNY
Russia has a whole collection of madmen
Because in their tradition is allowed
Let the madman be a saint at the same time
And having immunity almost like in India
Wasyl has an Orthodox Church in Red Square
He being “naked” visited churched, apparently
He threw windows with stones
While inside were prayers
Apparently he even saved the citizens
Of Pskov with strange advice
That in the fast they would put tables
And waited in front of the gate for the tsarist army
Raw uncooked meat
The Tsar didn`t eat it – in the Fast “not allowed”
Vasyl laughed this because “human meat”
Ate Tsar in a fast in Novgorod
DMITRI PRETENDER
The Russians called Dmitri a Liar
They banished from Russia with Żółkiewski
Did they kill or run away? Still twice
In Moscow appeared a new Dmitri
These times the Russians called “Sorrow”
Borys Godunow a book was created
Mr. Jan Matejko left the picture
Russian Tribute – it is from those times
The gentlemen masters of Russia were demanding
That our prince should be Orthodox
Wasa didn`t agree to these conditions
Our relations have been complicated…
Nevertheless, there is a thread in history
About the Poles have forgotten
The Russians are angry at this
That we took them Moscow for a short time…
JAN CASIMIR
History called him a coward
He only confirmed this opinion
He gave a crown to the Mother of God
Equality of states he promised
Hardly anybody remember about it today
That this king was also a cardinal
How it is possible someone will ask?
Well, it`s possible please check
ALTAR SERVANT
At Vienna Sobieski served to the Mass
In addition to Husaria he had Lisowczycy
Harem was conquered Black Mustafa
Didn`t expect such things
One of the souvenirs of that battle
Are the popular kruasans
Which Turks have baked for themselves
But they were eaten by the King with Lisowczycy
The King also left an important
Event on the calendar:
September 12 Mary`s Day
The Pope agreed to call It that
Jesus – Mary, alternately they were calling
Our Hussars in this important battle
Little is said about it lately
But Hollywood case remembers
MAZEPA
Just like Chmielnicki Mr. Mazepa
Didn`t good know whom to serve
To Poland, Ukraine or well Muscovites
Or perhaps the Swedes…so much he got lost
Careerists already have that
Sail your against the wind or with the wind
They put according to their instincts
So something to win by the way
CHYLIŃSKI
Chylińscy had a nice inn
Good conditions and money
But they didn`t nothing to be happy
Because God didn`t raise their offspring
Rafał arrived very late
When they asked Bonaventura
That`s what advised them unknown traveler
The family believes that it was him…
They gave their son to monastery
To the Franciscans – to Bonawentura
According to the principle that if God gives
It is worth to pay Him back with a vengeance
Rafał Chyliński licked wounds
This aroused disgust in the brothers
He could get infected every day
And that would probably happen
Rafał`s faith was unbreakable
As though he was asking for a disease
But God gave him an opportunity
That he would still rise from the scrapes
KSENIA FROM PETERSBURG
Ksenia danced at the Orthodox churches at nights
Especially those new when the construction lasted
After visiting the work “walked like a petals”
Such a certificates folded “spies”
She was 6 years in a marriage with Andrzej
Catherine`s husband was a bandmaster
When he died she lost her mind
She announced herself as Andrzej
She wore his clothes stubbornly
On the markets she embraced children
In carriages she traveled without any purpose
People liked her “because saint”
“Roast the dumplings” means Russian pancakes
For three days Ksenia called
Nobody understand what is meant
Until the third day the Tsarina died
Russian cakes were eaten in large quantities
On a feast and always for free
So the Russians are so happy
When there is a big funeral in the area
PASIJ WIELICZKOWSKI
The Saint from Moldova
Apparently he has revived Orthodoxy
He removed the Kiev Ławra
He awakened the monks from the big lethargy
DMITRI FROM ROSTOV
Dmitri knew something about Catholics
Consciously he imitated their piety
Worshiped The Blessed Sacrament in Orthodox church
Didn`t release a “Russian rosary” from his hands
What other qualities did Dmitri else
You can check on the internet
I say that he died on his knees
Like many Catholic saints
SERAFIN SAROWSKI
Serafin lived near Sarrov
He had your desert chopped a tree
Tamed wild animals in the forest
In front the icons long prayed
Immortalized him in books Dostoyevsky
Under the nick “old man Zosima”
The whole bohemian visited him
He could attract like a magnet to himself
To this day popular is the Optina Desert
Canada also has its own Desert…
Poles have their eremites
The first one was Andrzej Świerad
Later appeared Marians
There was also a beautiful monk Chyliński
I knew “grandmother” Jadwiga Bartel
People came “to Radomin”
This phenomenon took place in France
To “Old man from Ars” crowds came
“Old man – Capuchin” was also in Italy
He was a stigmatic His name is Pio
PAUL FROM TAGANROG
Our “old man” Paul was cruel
He took pilgrims in his home
He sent to ŁAWRA PIECZERSKA
Penniless and without food
He had a sharp tongue didn`t speak
In words to his penitents
But the nation still thinks
Of old man Paul as a saint
They take sand from his grave
They pour into a soup like medicine
Is that superstition – maybe it is faith
Do not judge me these things today
FILIP FROM ŁUGAŃSK
Someone attacked old man Filip at night
He fell because he stumbled over a tree
This log remains to this day in the cemetery
It looks like it was made of cement
SZEPTYCKI
Count Szeptycki was a Pole
However, he loved Uniate prayers
He introduced a lot of reforms in church
He initiated monastic communities
He rode around Russia “on left papers”
He met priests and even Bishops
He created Uniate structures
When the war lasted he quietly died
He was hated by propaganda
Was recognized in Poland as a renegade
He waits in the queue of the blessed
Today, the Servant of God Bishop Andrew
FEDOROV
He visited Switzerland and Bulgaria
He got a great education
Exarch of “Russian Catholics”
Blessed and martyr
SOŁOWIOW
Another from a series of Catholics
Only he didn`t hide it at all
He claimed that every Orthodox
Is a Catholic ipso facto
It is enough of loyalty to the Pope
To vow in the heart “not public”
Apparently the Pope accepted
This kind of “Russian conversions”
A relative of famous philosopher
Became a Catholic hierarchy
Was exarch of “Russian Catholics”
In times when Lenin in the Kremlin ruled
Sołowiow younger was exiled
He wrote there poems his mind lost…
How many more Catholics
“Yellow papers” will get in Russia
MANDICZ
Capuchin Mandicz was tiny
He came from ancient Yugoslavia
His life he spent in Venice
In the monastery of Capuchin Fathers
He was a well – known confessor
Modest like an old parish priest from Ars
Slav among the “pasta makers”
He left a beautiful trail forever
This Polish poem of Father Jarosław Wiśniewski was translated by an amateur volunteer
Father Jarek was on an unexpected holiday in V-VI 2017
On the Solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity he wrote the following letter: “(…) For this (…) the 26th anniversary of my ordination (…) fate has been given to unplanned holidays. I have been on the Solomon Islands (…) I`m waiting for a new visa to Papua (…)”
You can read the all letter in a file titled:” Open Letter to Benefactors” – from Father Jarek
P. S. Fr. Jarek was ordained a priest in the Ceremonies of the Most Holy Trinity. This day was also the Liturgical celebration of Philip Neri
