He didn`t have to strain hard
The friendly nation made an ovation
Now, later years fruits are already visible

Cuba

In Cuba many innocents were released
Prisoners of conscience probably a hundred
The world suddenly looked at Fidel
With a note of sympathy for the first time

Nicaragua

The most distress had the Pope in this country
The microphones were deaf for a moment
And the wild crowds yelled thoughtlessly
That they just need Sandino … and Lenin

Romania

In Romania it was wonderful
People wanted union
They called out loudly “UNITATE”
Seeing the Patriarch with the Pope

Bulgaria

In Bulgaria the Holy Father in tactical words
Absolved the suspects
Of provocation and cooperation
In a “strange Turkish” assassination

Greece

In Greece the Pope was not given
To kiss the land “because Orthodox”
However, after a few days stay
It didn`t smell that cold anymore

Croatia

This country is a piece of the Vatican
In former godless Yugoslavia
The Pope was very much waiting here
And although he delayed, came after all

Slovakia

In Slovakia, tired, shortly before his death
The Pope visited familiar mountains
It was said that he run away for a moment from Rome
Because there the heat tormented people

Czech Republic

Havel, the Czech Republic President said
That he doesn`t know what miracles are
However, he thinks that the Pope`s figure
Causes such phenomena…

THE SOVIETS

Agłona

I saw preparations in Agłona
Nobody spared money here
This small village was leveled
Big bulldozers rode here

Ugly homes were quite abolished
The square was sawn with fresh grass
Around the cathedral
Were built pretty “Fatima balustrades”

Szawle

On the Mount of Crosses the Pope goes
Who loved The Cross so much
He is still strong he plans a lot
“Golgotha of the East” envelops his thoughts…

Vilnius

In Vilnius the Pope asked Poles
Not to annoy the Lithuanian brothers
But they would build together the country
Arose from complete ruin

Tbilisi

Mr. Szewardnadze was touched in Tbilisi
He woke up all night
He was waiting so much for this visit
In this way he tuned his people

Yerevan

The Pope came to Yerevan
For a moment for the great jubilee

KREMLIN

The Pope was in Moscow by telemost
For just a few moments
It made some persons angry
Comments were very sad

I heard strange jokes from the Pope
On Russian central television
It was said half jokingly half seriously
That “banderowcy”` a pal is the Pope

He had a Russian icon in his desk
Size small but very famous
He was given it a year after Agcza`s terrible
Assassination on his life

The Pope referred to his humble person
The prophecies from the Fatima settlement
It was spoken in July before the revolution
That many innocent nations would die

That will suffer good people without guilt
That will be attacks on nuns and priests
That also the Holy Father in a white cassock
Will be covered with his own blood

So, the dream to consecrate the world
To the Protection of The Saint Mother
Especially this “Russia”
As the children of Fatima asked

He still trusted that he would go one day
And give in Kazan this Image
Which reminds the Russian of the times
Of the decay very sad

Just like the Poles in Częstochowa
Thank for the end of the Swedish Deluge
The Russians thank to The Kazan` Mother of God
For the miracle “of expelling Poles from Moscow”!

Perhaps this was the only chance
For reconciliation of our nations
Such an ideological, good and saint
Slavic Pope does not happen every day

However, the obsessive version is preached
That Karol broke the Soviet empire
It also speaks that the disintegration of “Soyuz”
Was and is over a tragedy for the Russians!

The empire, however, fell apart
Because of so many blatantly savage
Events of Katyń or similar them
Which our Polish nation remembers

The Russians don`t want anything to forget us
They get angry for the self-named Dymitr
This o is the greatest Moscow hero
Who will outwit a Pole completely…

So a certain cardinal took the Icon
A few months before Papal death
The Pope did not physically touch this ground
But enveloped her with all his being
